This workshop will assist teachers and program supervisors in creating an environment that supports effective learning and high performance, inclusive of all cultures.
Details
What makes good teaching or supervising? How can we motivate, encourage and coach our learners or employees – especially when they come from different cultures? In this fun and lively workshop, participants will learn and practice actions that excellent teachers and supervisors take to create an environment that supports effective learning and high performance.

Learning objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • name five qualities of good teaching/supervising
  • name and practice 2 actions that good teachers and supervisors do to create an environment that supports effective learning and best work
  • describe their awareness of the unconscious nature of culture and its effect on behavior and thinking in a learning and working environment
  • explain their understanding of the experience of learning and working in a non-native environment -- and of what it takes to learn and work well.

Kate Koski, CultureWorks Consulting
Presenters Bio
Kate is the founder and principal of CultureWorks Consulting. She holds a doctorate focused on intercultural communication and an M.A. in intercultural management and a B.A. in conflict resolution. She has provided training to teachers and managers in cross cultural communication, multicultural group dynamics, and conflict resolution throughout New England.
