This workshop was and presented at Network 2007 presenters. This “version” is expanded and improved! It will look at the “why, what, and how” of teaching vocabulary in the ESOL classroom.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Describe the importance of vocabulary for the ESOL student;
- Describe at least three criteria for "knowing" a word;
- Explain and use at least three practice activities for vocabulary building; and
- Create a lesson plan for specific students targeting at least one aspect of vocabulary.
