Overview
Many times in our ABE/ESOL programs we have students who struggle and it’s not clear if we’re dealing with a learning disability (LD), language acquisition or other issue. Here’s an opportunity to come and learn about the different types of learning disabilities that exist and how they manifest in the ABE/ESOL learner.
Details
This is the first in a series of sessions on LD that Ellen will facilitate for SABES SE this year. 10 PDPs will be available for those who attend the awareness session and 2 other sessions on LD teaching/classroom strategies and LD and the ESOL learner which will be held in November & December, 2008. Completion of a project is also required. The LD Foundations series is appropriate for both ABE and ESOL staff.
