- Overview
- *Calling all practitioners, counselors and program directors* Setting effective, realistic and attainable student goals should be at the heart of every ABE Program. In order to support learner’s goal attainment, goals need to be integrated throughout your program. This 4-hour workshop will provide you with the hands-on opportunity to learn how to integrate student goals into your classroom practice and throughout your program. This workshop will focus on components of goals, applying goal setting in the classroom by highlighting promising practices in programs.

As a result of this workshop participants will:
- Understand the value of setting goals for the learner, the teacher and the program;
- Understand the components of the goal setting process and the application of these various components;
- Learn about some goal setting activities that you can apply with your adult learners;
- Develop an action plan for integrating goal setting into your classroom.

- Anne Goff has been teaching ESOL for Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) in Worcester since 1996 in both the community and work-based programs. In addition, she has been a QCC workplace coordinator for the past eight years in various area companies, currently at UMass Memorial Medical Center. She is also the Program/Staff Development Coordinator for QCC at City Square in Worcester and has been serving as the coordinator for SABES Central Region’s annual Best-Practices Showcase conference
