Overview
Michele Bahr will take you out of this world and bring you back in this course of two dynamic science sessions. You will explore the elements of science through simple, hands on activities designed to increase your understanding of key scientific concepts and your ability to convey what you learned to your students.
Details
The first session – Physics and Space Science The focus in this session will be the electromagnetic spectrum which includes the wavelengths associated with radio waves, visible light, ultraviolet light and x-rays. The activities will be based on the properties of light. Human understanding of the solar system and beyond is based on telescopes and other instruments which use varied wavelengths to distinguish features of planets, moons, comets and galaxies. We’ll use knowledge of the electromagnetic spectrum to examine our place in space and in the Universe.
