Goal Setting for Next Steps (NE)
- Overview
- This four hour workshop is designed to help teachers, directors, counselors, and other program staff understand and implement effective goal setting practices and the Massachusetts DESE Countable Outcomes Policy in order to facilitate learners' Next Steps.
- Details
-
Setting effective, realistic and attainable student goals should be at the heart of every ABE program. In order to support learners' goal attainment, goal setting processes need to be integrated throughout your program. In addition, The Massachusetts DESE gives us the opportunity to report students' successful attainment of goals as part of their Countable Outcomes Policy.
In this four hour workshop, you will explore how to integrate student goal setting, goal follow-up, and goal documentation into your classroom practice and throughout your program. You will also review the newest list of student goals on the student intake form, current performance standards, and available goal setting resources.
