Overview
This 3-hour workshop is designed to provide an overview of a variety of activities or topics pertinent to the instruction of adults with learning disabilities. The material is intended to be presented to ABE practitioners during in-service trainings facilitated by the program’s ADA coordinator.

Learning objectives

By the conclusion of the training participants will be able to:

  • locate written and web-based resources on the topics presented during the training;
  • explain to an audience the general overview of each topic; and
  • identify and describe a variety of activities that could be used to effectively present the topic material.
  • develop and administer an evaluative activity (oral or written) that is appropriate to the in-service presentation

Holly Jones and Carol Bower
Presenters Bio
Holly Jones has worked at The Immigrant Learning Center in Malden as a Program Coordinator, ADA Coordinator and Guidance Counselor for 10 years. In her work at the ILC she has given workshops in the classroom on Stress Management and Depression. Holly previously worked for 17 years as a clinician in psychiatric hospitals, day treatment centers, half way houses and a nursing home. Carol Bower is the director of NE SABES.
