Overview
This full day workshop on the REEP Writing Assessment for non-native English speakers focuses on both REEP test administration and scoring. The morning session will focus on administering the assessment, while scoring results from it will be the focus of the afternoon session. *Please note that both administration and scoring trainings (am and pm sessions) are required in order to achieve certification status with this assessment tool.

The REEP is one of the assessment tools used in MA ABE/ESOL programs to report learner educational gain.

Learning objectives

As a result of participating in this training, participants will:

 

·         understand the basics of standardized assessment

·         be able to accurately administer the REEP writing assessment

·         have a familiarity with the REEP Writing Rubric

·         understand the purpose for using the REEP Writing Assessment, including the Prompt and Warm-Up

·         score student writing analytically using REEP’s Writing Rubric.
