Subject: ABE,ESOL,GED,Curriculum Development
Description: This scheduled workshop is a great "free standing" offering for those programs in the initial stages of formulating and documenting the components of Basics and Beyond the Basics Curriculum. It is intended to provide an overview of the process, familiarize you with the components of an exemplary curriculum and explore how to use the frameworks in ways that best fit the needs of your program. We will approach the process in manageable stages as you develop a draft action plan to guide further curriculum development. We stongly suggest that directors and program coordinators bring at least one practitioner with them to participate in this workshop.

Subject: Other Curriculum & Instruction
Description: (Financial Literacy Education and Asset Development for Adult Learners)
It is more important now than ever to have the most current financial education information available to adult learners and practitioners. The myriad curriculum and resources available to teach Financial Literacy Education (FLE) can be overwhelming for ABE practitioners interested in teaching or advising on this subject in their program. How do you know which topics are relevant to adult learners and if the curriculum is geared toward that audience? The Massachusetts Association for Community Action (MASSCAP) and the Institute on Assets and Social Policy (IASP) at Brandeis University, have taken the guess work out! Researchers at the Institute have reviewed the most popular FLE curriculum and used the best of the best to develop a Financial Education Toolkit designed specifically for use with adult learners.
