Overview
This three-hour session will focus on more zero-preparation activities with a concentration on strategies for low-level English Language Learners as they relate to reading. Some of the activities will be from Laural's new book to be published in the spring, Wow! Stories from Real Life published by ALTA publications. Laural Pollard will present Restore the Joy to Teaching with Zero Preparation Activieis on Tuesday, May 27 from 9:30am - 3:30pm. Attendance at both sessions is not required. Please register separately.

Learning objectives

As a result of this workshop participants will

  • learn strategies using multi-sensory techniques that will aid in the teaching of reading to multi-level classes in both ABE and ESOL classes
  • adapt strategies that were presented to teach reading and vocabulary to low level students.
