Overview
In recent years, programs have seen an increase of English Language Learners (ELL) in their ABE/GED classrooms. The following workshops will discuss strategies and techniques to support your non native language Student to reach their educational goals.

Learning objectives

As a result of this workshop participants will be able to:

  • describe key components of second language acquisition theory and their impact on the ELL student's in the ABE class as it impacts pronunciation
  • use a variety of teaching tools for teaching pronunciation for the ELL learner
  • identify specific pronunciation and intonation difficulties of the ELL learner
