- In recent years, programs have seen an increase of English Language Learners (ELL) in their ABE/GED classrooms. The following workshops will discuss strategies and techniques to support your non native language Student to reach their educational goals. Training will be held in Room 109B, Harrington Learning Center, QCC.

As a result of this workshop participants will be able to:
- identify key components of second language acquistion theory and their role for improving the ELL learner's comprehension in the ABE classroom
- describe the issues facing the ELL learner in the classroom
- discuss research based techniques and strategies for supporting the ELL learner
- design a lesson which incorporates the various techniques and strategies for supporting ESOL learners in the ELL classroom

Kathy Moran McKee, Worcester Adult Learning Center - Presenters Bio
- Kathy Moran McKee teaches the ABE 1 class at Worcester Adult Learning Center. She has been involved in education for more than 30 years. She has vast experience in developing curriculum for her programs and has also served as the Program and Staff Development Facilitator for WALC for the past three years.
