Description:
In recent years, programs have seen an increase of English Language Learners (ELL) in their ABE/GED classrooms. The following workshops will discuss strategies and techniques to support your non native language Student to reach their educational goals. Training will be held in Room 109B, Harrington Learning Center, QCC.

As a result of this workshop participants will be able to:
- identify key components of second language acquistion theory and their role for improving the ELL learner's comprehension in the ABE classroom
- describe the issues facing the ELL learner in the classroom
- discuss research based techniques and strategies for supporting the ELL learner
- design a lesson which incorporates the various techniques and strategies for supporting ESOL learners in the ELL classroom
