Overview
ABE administrators wear many hats in their work. One hat they must wear is that of organizational leader. This does not mean they need to be tyrants or "bossy bosses," but it does mean that others will look to them to set the stage for change within the program. This three-session mini-course is designed to identify the knowledge, develop the skills, and demonstrate the strategies that ABE directors need to be effective leaders. It can benefit all administrators, though less experienced directors will probably find it most useful. The first session deals with Leadership Basics, the second focuses on Community Leadership, and the third covers Educational Leadership. All participants must attend the first session and are then welcome to attend both, one, or neither of the following two sessions, though we encourage you to attend all three sessions.
