Overview
Setting effective, realistic and attainable student goals should be at the heart of every ABE program. In order to support learners' goal attainment, goals need to be integrated throughout your program. This four hour workshop will provide you with the hands-on opportunity to learn how to integrate student goals into your classroom practice and throughout your program. Expected participants will be teachers, student counselors and program administrators.

Learning objectives
As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to: 1. Understand the value of setting goals for the learner, the teacher and the program; 2. Understand the components of the goal setting process and the application of these various components 3. Learn about some goal setting activities, using the MA ABE Curriculum Frameworks that you can apply with your adult learners; 4. Develop an action plan for integrating goal setting into the classroom.

Presenters Bio
Anne has been teaching ESOL for Quinsigamond Community College since 1996 in both the community and work-based programs. She's been a QCC workplace coordinator for the past 8 years in various area companies, currently at UMass Memorial. She's the Program/Staff Development Coordinator for QCC at City Square, and has served as coordinator for SABES' Best Practices annual showcase conference.
