Description:
This workshop is designed to help practitioners develop assessments that will guide their practice. It will include several presentations and activities that stress authentic assessment techniques. Other activities will demonstrate how students can be engaged in designing classroom assessment, including peer- and self-assessments. The development of learning objectives and their connection to assessment will be identified and their connection to the Curriculum Frameworks will be presented.

Learning Objectives:
After completing this workshop, participants will be able to:
1) Identify different ways to integrate assessments into classroom practice.
2) Describe how assessments can be a tool for refining Learning Objectives and generating effective activities.
3) Develop at least one form of authentic assessment (e.g., reports, long-term projects) and integrate it with a planned class.
4) Integrate Curriculum Frameworks standards and benchmarks in designing classroom assessments.
