Overview
ADA Coordinators and other ABE program staff are welcome to join us for the first in a series of facilitated sharing groups about issues of "disability" in our programs.
Details
This first sharing group will focus on issues of mental health, well-being and disability. We will kick-off the three-hour facilitated sharing group with an open discussion that addresses your many questions and concerns about supporting adults "with disabilities" who strive and could thrive in their life long learning goals. The remainder of the workshop will be facilitated by one of the region's Career Center's Disability Specialists who will share information about how to best link our adult students to mental health supports and resources--supports and resources that they may need, and that they have a right to access. If you have a particular question that you would like answered, or a situation that you would like addressed, feel free to email Deborah Schwartz at: deborah.schwartz@umb.edu with your question and/or scenario ASAP. We will collect these questions and concerns and design the first hour of the group sharing in such a way as to best address them. Please keep your questions and scenarios general avoiding actual names for reasons of confidentiality.
